Hello Lazies.

With 1.8 seconds left remaining, the Mavericks were two points behind and needed to get the ball into play. Luka freed himself to catch the ball, splits the two Memphis defenders, but began stumbling behind the 3-point line, and ultimately flipped up a shot that would either win or lose the game. That shot (pictured above) went in.

I guess for brilliant players, a little bit of luck always finds them when they genuinely need it. The game finished 114-113, with Doncic scoring 29 points, while Kristaps Porzingis added 21. Dwight Powell also had an excellent game for Dallas, shooting 12 points on 6 of 7 from the field.

Surprisingly, Grayson Allen led the Grizzlies with 23 points while matching his career-best six 3-pointers. But even after that fantastic effort, Allen had to feel inadequate after the game. Being a 90.6% free throw shooter, he missed both his shots with 2.2 seconds left in the game, which would’ve sealed the deal for the Grizzlies.

With that absurd victory, the Mavericks are now sitting in seventh place in the West and hold a little buffer, extending their advantage to two and a half games over the eighth-place Grizzlies. But it still looks like the Mavs’ will end up in the NBA Play-In Tournament, which Luka and Dallas’s owner Mark Cuban have expressed their utmost hate for.

Catch you Monday.
