The LA Clippers are rolling right now and won all four games this week, making it a perfect five in a row overall. Surprisingly, LA made this happen without key pieces to their roster, with Serge Ibaka and Patrick Beverley being out for multiple games.
In the five straight, the Clippers defeated the Pistons, Rockets, Suns, Trail Blazers, and Lakers. So the real question now is, are the Clippers slipping under the radar?
Ivica Zubac and Reggie Jackson have filled those starting roles with great success, and the team is clicking as they look towards the postseason. How good might you ask? When Leonard, George, and Jackson are on the floor, they produce the third-highest offensive rating on the roster at 127.6. In fact, of trios across the NBA that have played more than 200 minutes together this season, they have the highest offensive rating.
Paul George has been playing outstanding, and as expected, averaging 33.7 points with 5.7 assists during the stretch. In comparison, Kawhi Leonard put up 29 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game on 41 percent shooting.
The slight minor issue here is that Paul George is currently suffering a niggling toe injury which could rear its ugly head come postseason. But if you go by the previous week, nearly 34 points a game ain’t that bad.
Catch you Thursday.
