Over the past week, the Toronto Raptors played four games in which they were heavy favorites to come out with the win for all four. As expected, that’s exactly what they did, making them the only undefeated team in the NBA for Week 6. As stated by the ESPN Power Rankings.
Toronto has now 17 wins out of the 21 games for the season. That’s a franchise record, but the team looked a little shaky last night against the Miami Heat where a vintage Dwyane Wade performance nearly took them down. But, Toronto just had too many weapons on hand.
A huge part of Toronto’s win last night came from the way the team played in transition. The Heat were terrible at getting back to defend their own net, and the Raptors tortured them for it. The Heat didn’t have a single turnover in the first half, and yet somehow still gave up 11 fast break points.
Toronto has stomped themselves as one of the best teams in the NBA this season. This has been backed up by superstars Kawhi Leonard (pictured) and Kyle Lowry. You would think these 2 players would give the team security come Playoffs time, but most teams want a ‘Big 3’ for complete security. Speaking of Big 3, there are rumors around town that the Raps will pick up Carmelo Anthony… Thoughts?
Side Note: The Cleveland Cavaliers have spoken to the 76ers about Markelle Fultz.
Catch you Thursday.
