Is it time for LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers to hit the panic button? The 2016-17 season has been rocky, and the stats show that this is the weakest LeBron team we’ve seen since his finals streak began in 2011.
Yes, the team looks mediocre and the Celtics look like they are going to snag the No. 1 seed in the East. But LeBron hasn’t needed the top seed to make the finals over the past six years. Four of those seasons, his team finished in second place before going on to win the East anyway.
Everyone keeps talking about their defensive woes. But how much of the Cavs’ defensive struggles will matter come June? LeBron still has the ability to flip the switch, and it looks like the switch has been activated with their past 2 wins. If the Cavs’ do fail to reach the finals this year, there will have been at least some writing on the wall from earlier in the season.
Catch you Thursday.
