The biggest news from the last couple of days was Cleveland Cavaliers acquiring guard Kyle Korver from the Atlanta Hawks. The exchange was for guard/forward Mike Dunleavy, guard Mo Williams, cash considerations and a protected first-round draft pick (first possible pick is Cleveland’s 2019 first round pick).
In 11 of the 13 years Korver has been in the league, he’s shot over 39 percent from the 3 point line. The move will allow him to be open a lot more with the Cavaliers — making him a serious weapon when he’s already draining 40.9 percent of his 3s this year.
Korver turns 36 in March, and some would say he’s beginning to decline. To the Cavs, age doesn’t matter. They are in the empire business, and Korver is another piece that puts them that much closer to a repeat.
Catch you Thursday.
